Celebrity Scoop: Denise Richards Takes Kids For Frozen Yogurt

Denise Richards treated her daughters Sam, 6, and Lola, 5, to some frozen yogurt in California on February 26.

The former Bond girl later Tweeted about their outing, writing, "Great afternoon with my girls... Frozen yogurt and did a little book shopping for them."

Sam and Lola's dad Charlie Sheen made headlines again this week thanks to a series of bizarre rants in which he criticized Alcoholics Anonymous, various ex-girlfriends and Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre. In response, CBS announced that they have canceled the show for the rest of the season.

Tips To Help Shed Winter Weight

Spring break is right around the corner and that means that some of us will be escaping the winter cold and getting into the sun and a swimsuit.  There is no magic formula to losing weight.  Burning extra calories through exercise and making responsible choices in what you eat is the what it takes to get rid of the extra pounds put on over the long winter months.

Often times it is the little things that we don’t pay attention to that can make all the difference in weight loss.  With that in mind here are some tips to help you along the way:

No extras.  When eating out adding a roll, cookie, or bag or chips to your order doesn’t only cost more money it adds more calories.  These costly extras could be adding anywhere from 250 - 450 calories to your meal.

Get skinny.  When ordering your morning coffee make sure to ask for it “skinny” or with skim milk.  While this only saves about 60 calories, think of it as five less minutes on the treadmill.  Skinny versions of drinks also use sugar-free syrup.

Eat fresh.
When eating desserts go for fruit. Fruits are carbs but they are very low calorie and are great for you.  Weight Watchers recently equated eating a whole barrel of apples with eating one slice of apple pie.  At Freeziac we offer a number of different fresh fruits as toppings for our low calorie frozen yogurt making us smart choice for dessert.

Make A Date With Your Family On Valentines Day

How will you include the kids in your Valentine’s Day plans? An article at ezinearticles.com suggests dating your kids this Valentine’s Day.  As parents we often get busy with work and other routine schedules. This is a great time to break away form your regular schedule. Below are some things you can do with the kids.

Begin your day with a breakfast of heart shaped pancakes or French toast; Heart shaped cookie cutters work well. Top your meal with strawberries or use whipped cream to create a heart shaped topping.  Add surprise to your child’s lunch with a heart shaped sandwich. Use the same heart shaped cookie cutters from breakfast. Throw in a few candy kisses and a love note.

If your family likes games, make up your own “I Love You” Scrabble game. Put a scrabble tile with each family member’s name in a basket. Pass the basket around the circle, table or wherever you are seated. Each person pulls a letter and must say something nice about the person whose tile he draws.

Close the evening out with a treat and a trip to Freeziac. Frozen yogurt with toppings of your choice is a simple combination that is easy and fun for the kids to serve themselves.

As you wrap up the evening, settle down with a family movie. "Cinderella," "Beauty and the Beast" or "The Love Bug" (an old Disney movie) may be entertaining for your young audience.

No matter what you choose to do this Valentine’s Day the idea is to enjoy quality time with the family. Do you have a favorite family Valentine’s Day activity to share?

First Dates & Frozen Yogurt Make A Sweet Combination

People have been falling in love (or at least in like-you-a-whole-lot) in restaurants and over shared food since the beginning. It's no secret. Rather than be obvious and take your date to a swanky place established couples go for Valentine's dining, it might be better to try a low key place like Freeziac and have some fun during  a potential boyfriend or girlfriend test drive (or depending how you look at it, memorable first-date experience).

Here are some first date "tips" to follow to help you along on what can either be a disaster of a time or the start of something sweet.

1. Time It Right

Your first date should be timed to perfection, and I don’t mean the time you show up for the date, but rather how long the date lasts. Try to keep the date under 2 ½ hours long. This will give you an escape route if things go badly, pretty quickly; and it will also help build some anticipation in the other party. It’s this anticipation that is crucial to you seeing your date again.

2. Pick A Place Good For Conversation

Most people find trying to have a chat in a nightclub very frustrating. It’s important therefore, that any venue you choose allows for a conversation without undue strain or distractions. First dates are all about getting to know the other person and making a connection. Loud noises tend to get in the way of that.

3. Plan Ahead For Cost

There is nothing more embarrassing than going on a date and having “money” issues. It tends to put a real damper on things and can leave people feeling uncomfortable. When you are trying to make a connection with someone the last thing you need is a cloud hanging over the date.
